Almost everyone has heard of the extraordinary appearances of the Virgin Mary to
14-year-old Bernadette Soubirous at Lourdes in 1858. But have you ever really explored the details of the incredible healings that have occurred since then at this small town in Southern France? This multimedia presentation briefly reviews the history of the apparitions and then looks at several of the thousands of cures that have taken place in Lourdes, including recent ones that defy explanation by even the most skeptical medical personnel using the best modern technology. As you may know, this is the first of three new presentations that the diocese asked CAINA to develop on Lourdes, Fatima, and Guadalupe as part of the Marian focus of the second year of our diocesan Golden Jubilee. They have scheduled each of these new talks three times at several parishes in our diocese.
