Dear Brothers and Sisters,
There is only one week left for registration for CCD.
A reminder that the First Year Confirmation class is open to 7th graders. Registration is also open for RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children) for children over the age of seven who have not been baptized, or for older children who have not yet made their First Communion. People will be in the parish foyer ready to help with registration.
Just a reminder to leave the second last pews on either side of the church reserved for families with young children (as indicated by the sign in each pew). Normally that would mean children under the age of seven. Even if Mass is about to begin and they are empty, please do not fill them, because some of the families with young children may be
coming shortly after that and need a place to sit. Thanks for your cooperation with this.
We have started our bus ministry for the 5 PM Vigil Mass and the 2 PM Mass on Sunday! We have flyers available to hand out to people or, if you can take three or four and post them around the community that would be helpful!
Several community events are coming up for which we need volunteers: the Parish Picnic on Sunday, September 8th from 3:00 - 6 PM at Epiphany School and the Culpeper Fiesta, Friday, September 20, 6PM-10PM. We need at least two parishioners to sign up for each hour to provide information and promote the programs going on in our parish and to invite members of the community to come and visit us!
We would like to form a committee to organize a new Parish Photo Album for 2020, perhaps with an online component. By next year our current photo album will be four years old. With the advance of technology, we might be able to produce this album “in-house”, with the collaboration of parishioners instead of going through a professional company. If you are willing to serve on this committee, please contact the parish office.
Are you interested in being on a committee to help conduct a nonpartisan voter registration drive? If so, please submit your name and contact information to the office rectory.
We have great news regarding our school buses. They are both full and we have a waiting list. That means 28 children will be riding the buses next year. Thanks, again, for your incredible generosity in making this a reality, and allowing some children to attend our school who otherwise would not have been able to attend.
Epiphany school is looking for at least one person who is interested in a paid, part-time position as a bus driver. They are also hoping to have a couple of substitutes
available for emergencies. The hours would be approximately 6:45 AM to 8 AM, and 2:45 PM to 4 PM. The salary is negotiable, and the applicant must be VIRTUS – compliant (compliant with the diocesan requirements for child safety.) Please contact Mary Leslie at 540-825-9017 for more information.
As I write this, Joshua is still in the hospital in Fairfax. His blood pressure was dangerously low which caused his heartbeat to be extremely high. Also many liquids were accumulating in other parts of his body that need to be regularly removed. As of today, he was improving a little. Please continue to keep him and his family in your prayers.
God bless,
Fr. Kevin
